Gore to receive Emmy

Former US Vice President Al Gore to set to receive an honorary International Emmy Award for his contribution to television.

Gore, 58, whose documentary An Inconvenient Truth won two Oscars last month, will accept the Founders Award at a ceremony in New York City in November.

The organisation's president Bruce Paisner say: "We in the media industry are honoured that one of the world's leading political figures has joined our global community of broadcasters."
