Velvet Revolver singer's wife arrested for burning his clothes

The wife of Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland has been arrested on suspicion of burning his $10,000 wardrobe outside their home.

Mary Weiland could face arson and vandalism charges after police in southern California found a bin of smouldering clothes on Saturday night.

Earlier that day, the couple left two rooms vandalised after an argument at a luxury hotel.

She has been released on $50,000 bail.

The 31-year-old voluntarily went to the police station to give a statement, while the couple's two young children were put in the care of family friends.

Scott Weiland gained fame in the 1990s with the rock band Stone Temple Pilots and formed Velvet Revolver in 2002 with three former members of Guns N' Roses.
