Rolling Stones to play Slane

The Rolling Stones will play a concert at Slane Castle, Co Meath on August 18 it was announced today.

The Rolling Stones will play a concert at Slane Castle, Co Meath on August 18 it was announced today.

The gig will form part of their record-breaking Bigger Bang Tour.

Only 60,000 will be allowed attend the event, 20,000 less than Slane's usual capacity.

Tickets go on sale on Friday March 30, priced from €86.50.

Slane’s owner Henry Mountcharles said it would be a historic concert:

“The last time the Stones played Slane was 25 years ago - this show is going to be somewhat different, most particularly because it's going to be in the dark,” he said.

“Slane is at this stage a historic venue, and this is going to be a piece of rock n' roll history.”
