Hard-working Campbell praised

Naomi Campbell has wowed sanitation bosses by working hard during her first day of community service in New York City.

The former supermodel yesterday began a five day sentence mopping floors at the city's Sanitation Department - but showed no sign of the diva behaviour that landed her the sentence, after she was convicted of throwing a mobile phone at her maid.

Colleagues at the site claim Campbell has worked harder than many regular staff members.

An employee tells British newspaper The Sun: "She worked really hard and asked the supervisor, 'How am I doing?' He told her she was working harder than some regular staff.

"But some of the women who work here have been a bit catty and say they are going to make extra mess for her to clean."
