White Stripes blame hoax for fake tour dates

The White Stripes are blaming an internet hoaxer for reports they are embarking on a massive US tour this year.

A long list of dates appeared on a number of websites last week, suggesting the band were preparing a huge tour to promote forthcoming album Icky Thump - which is due to be released in June.
