Mel C still haunted by Spice Girls misery

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm turned down the chance to reunite with the girl group because she is still haunted by negative memories of her time with the Wannabe hitmakers.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm turned down the chance to reunite with the girl group because she is still haunted by negative memories of her time with the Wannabe hitmakers.

The 32-year-old singer claims she suffered an eating disorder while in the band, and is still disturbed by the impact her skinny image had on young fans.

She says: "When I was in the Spice Girls I wasn't eating, I was exercising way too much, my periods had stopped and my bone density was dangerously low. And the worst thing about it is that I was a role model to millions of young girls."

Sporty Spice Chisholm last week hit out at claims she is the only Spice Girl refusing to reunite, insisting other former band members are also against a comeback.
