Gibson 'too old' for Mad Max 4
Director George Miller is planning a long-awaited follow-up to his Mad Max movies - but the action sequel will not include original leading man Mel Gibson, because he's too "old".
Australian Miller directed Gibson as police officer 'Mad' Max Rockatansky living in a post-apocalyptic world in three Mad Max movies in 1979, 1981 and 1985.
The Happy Feet director says: "I do want to make another Mad Max movie and get stuck back into that.
"It (the lead) won't be Mel. He was 21 when he made the first one, now he's a lot older and his passion is for film making and directing.
"I don't think he is into acting and I don't think he would be interested in being involved at all."
