Outlaw

Director: Nick Love

Cast: Sean Bean, Danny Dyer, Lennie James, Bob Hoskins

We are here in the Blairite world gone utterly mad. Society has gone to pot, the streets have been taken over by yobs … enter the punishers.

Love has brought us the sort of film that ought to disgust – basically, a group of hard nuts won’t take it any more and set out to do down the said yobs – but in an embarrassing kind of way it doesn’t.

Deep down inside, let’s face it, we’d all relish the opportunity to strike back at the people who have brought us to the brink.

Thus we have a quite serious, if violent, examination of the nature of revenge and, however unwillingly, we’re with the nuts all the way.
