Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant's friendship stretches back further than their recent movie collaboration - the actress wrote to Grant after he was caught with prostitute Divine Brown in 1995.

Barrymore and Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola were the only Hollywood stars to reach out to Grant in the aftermath of the incident, which threatened to derail his acting career.
