An Officer and a Gentleman back in Special Edition

It’s romance with a happy ending in An Officer And A Gentleman Special Edition (Paramount, €24.99).

This time Richard Gere plays Zack Mayo, a navy pilot who begins an officer’s training course and soon falls for factory girl Paula (Debra Winger).

This 1982 outing was the film which established Gere, although Louis Gossett, who has a supporting role here, walked off with the Oscars.

This double disc boasts an interesting retrospective documentary, commentary by director Taylor Hackford, a batch of fascinating featurettes, an introduction by Gere and three easter eggs (hidden features for the uninitiated).
