Bobby Brown arrested during school show

Former singer Bobby Brown has been arrested over child support issues, while watching his daughter at a cheerleading competition.

Brown was picked up at a school in Canton, Massachusetts last night, for failing to appear at a child support hearing last October.

He was scheduled to appear in a family court today, officials said.

Brown was nabbed once before while watching his daughter in a cheerleading contest – in March last year – for minor motor vehicle offences dating back 14 years.

He and pop diva Whitney Houston are divorcing after a 14-year marriage.

Last October, Brown paid around £5,000 (€7,400) in child support after being threatened with arrest if he stepped back into Massachusetts. He owed over two months worth of payments to Kim Ward, of Stoughton, Massachusetts She is the mother of his two teenage children. It was not immediately known if Brown still owes child support.

His lawyer, Atlanta-based Phaedra Parks, did not immediately return a call to comment.

Brown, best known for hits Don’t Be Cruel and My Prerogative, has a history of legal troubles. In June 2004, he was sentenced to 90 days in prison for missing three months of payments. That sentence was suspended after Brown paid out about £7,600 (€11,100).
