Ono's former driver pleads guilty

A former chauffeur who attempted to blackmail Yoko Ono for $2m (€1.5m), pleaded guilty on Friday to reduced charges.

Koral Karsan (aged 50) pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny in the third degree in a Manhattan, New York courtroom and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

He admitted he threatened to try and embarrass the widow of former Beatle John Lennon unless she gave him "more than $3,000 (€2,300)".

He was initially charged with first-degree attempted grand larceny for allegedly threatening to release embarrassing recordings and photos of the 73-year-old unless she paid him $2m (€1.5m).

Karsan will now be moved from a city jail cell to federal immigration custody. He is in the US illegally and faces deportation.
