Bloc Party to suspend gig over coin

British rockers Bloc Party were forced to stop a gig on Sunday night when an audience member threw a coin at frontman Kele Okereke

British rockers Bloc Party were forced to stop a gig on Sunday night when an audience member threw a coin at frontman Kele Okereke.

The band's performance in Aberdeen, Scotland, was interrupted when the metal missile was thrown during Positive Tension, their set's second song.

Bloc Party returned to the stage shortly after the incident but looked shaken after the interruption.

Posting on a local music forum, a fan writes: "It was a pretty good gig in the end, but aside from a couple of songs they didn't look they were having fun and the coin-throwing incident made the rest of the gig feel a bit awkward."

A spokesperson for the group says Okereke was not seriously injured.
