The Guardian not as bad as you'd think
In The Guardian (BVHE, €24.99) Kevin Costner plays Ben Randall, a veteran of the US Coast Guard.
Following a tragedy he becomes a trainer of new recruits. Reluctantly, he agrees and comes eyeball to eyeball with brash trainee, Jake Fischer (Ashton Kutcher).
Despite itself, this is a better than average drama, and Costner isn’t half so irritating. Kutcher, however, is the star of the show.
Among the extras are an audio commentary, an average made featurette, a tribute to the USCG plus deleted scenes and an alternate ending.
A pity it comes across as a PR piece for the Coast Guard though.
2/5.
