Former Go-Gos singer Belinda Carlisle was offered Paula Abdul's spot on talent show American Idol - fuelling rumours the judge will be replaced.

Courtney Love recently claimed to have been approached about taking Abdul's place, but show producers blamed it on a telephone hoax.
