The Doors win lifetime achievement award

One of rock music's most daring and influential bands, The Doors, have today been awarded a Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The award was presented on the eve of tonight's 49th Grammy Awards event in Los Angeles.

The Doors' guitarist Robby Krieger said the band's late lead singer, Jim Morrison, would have been "very honoured" with the award.
