Ellen Degeneres and her partner Portia De Rossi are planning on starting a family - as soon as they can decide which one of them will carry a baby.

The topic was raised during a recent W magazine spread, which featured the lesbian couple and former Ally McBeal star De Rossi suggested the talk show host would play mum.
