Jermaine Jackson has offered former S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara the chance to return to the pop charts with him as her mentor, after befriending the singer on a British reality show.

Jackson has revealed he's hoping to write songs for O'Meara, a fellow contestant on the most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother.

The former Jackson 5 star has told friends he finds the former S Club 7 singer "talented and beautiful" and wants to help her become an international star.

Speaking on IRN Radio in the UK, he says: "I thought that Jo is a very, very wonderful talent and there's a bit of confusion that's trapped inside of her.

"She needs to step out of her shell. She's young, she's beautiful, she looks great on camera. She can sing.

"I was most impressed by Jo because of her musical talent but she needs to take off those shackles, those handcuffs.

"I told her that I have a song that I wanted to present to her. I'm going to do it."

Jackson finished as runner-up on the hit reality show on Sunday night - behind series winner Shilpa Shetty.
