Southern Comfort a compelling drama
Walter Hill’s Southern Comfort (Optimum,€24.99) has echoes of Deliverance, as nine young National Guardsmen on a training exercise run foul of Cajuns in Louisiana.
What follows is a murderous chase as they attempt to elude their attackers. Keith Carradine and Powers Boothe are hunter and hunted in this compelling film.
Ry Cooder’s atmospheric soundtrack is chillingly effective.
3/5.
