Old Joy

Director: Kelly Reichardt

Cast: Daniel London, Will Oldham, Tanya Smith

Two old pals – London and Oldham – take off to the Cascade Mountains in Oregon for a week-end of bonding in this gentle examination of friendship and coming to terms.

The scenery is, of course, magnificent as is the playing of the central characters who begin to discover things about themselves that they never imagined.

The depth of character and the often wry observation makes for a film that is consistently interesting and worthwhile.
