Lohan sought treatment to save career
Troubled star Lindsay Lohan was forced to check herself into a rehab centre in Los Angeles last week after causing several costly delays on her new film.
The 20-year-old was reportedly on thin ice with film bosses after she showed up late during filming in December and forcing them to shut down production because of her emergency appendix operation.
Lohan had previously be chastised for her unprofessional behaviour while filming Georgia Rule last summer and, as a result, producers of her current film had to pay a high insurance premium to employ her.
A source tells American publication Us Weekly: "She had to get her s**t together and get sober or else, literally, the girl could not work again."
Lohan is currently in the middle of filming the thriller I Know Who Killed Me, in which she plays a stripper suffering from dual personalities after a brutal kidnapping.
Her doctor has given her the okay to resume shooting and she is expected to return to the film set today.
The Mean Girls star will still receive treatment at the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles at night and film during the day.
