Semi-biographical Banderas film hits Sundance

Antonio Banderas brought a Spanish flavour to the Sundance Film Festival, promoting his directorial effort Summer Rain.

The film is a coming-of-age tale charting the first loves, lusts and obsessions of friends on holiday in the 70s.

“It reflects my own life when I was in Malaga, before I left to start this adventure, which now took 30 years of my life,” he said.

“I remember those years being very hard, filled with questions, with tribulations, the discovering of many different universes, sex, betrayal, jealousy, friendship, all of those things.”
