Fast-food nation offended at Federline ad
Kevin Federline may be taking the mickey out of himself in his new commercial, but some people aren’t sharing the joke.
Britney’s ex plays a fast food worker dreaming of celebrity glory in the advert for Nationwide Insurance, but the National Restaurant Association is angry at the promo, saying it is “demeaning and unpleasant” to the almost 13 million Americans who work in the industry.
NRA exec Annika Stensson explains: “A sudden change in Federline’s career could have been depicted with him holding an unemployment benefit cheque. It shouldn’t be necessary for a company to disrespect others to get its point across.”
A spokesman for the insurance company, which is planning to show the commercial during the primetime of the Superbowl, claims the ad isn’t meant to offend.
