Oprah appearance sees Bailey-Rae star rise
Corinne Bailey Rae has seen her debut album shoot up the US charts following an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's TV show.
Her self-titled record has climbed 25 places to four in the Billboard album chart, following a 155% surge in sales. The 27-year-old has been nominated for three Grammys and is up for a further three prizes at the Brit Awards.
The singer has also seen her stock rise in Canada, where her album has climbed 54 places to number nine.
The Leeds-born singer has had a remarkable 12 months. Put Your Records On was the most-played British hit on UK radio last year and she was the recipient of two Mobo Awards last September.
During her appearance on Oprah's programme on January 16, the soul star said her sudden success felt "surreal".
