Goya's Ghost film lacks construction
Goya's Ghost
Milos Forman
Javier Barden, Randy Quaid, Natalie Portman
Great painters often make for worthy screen characters so here the noted director turns his attention to Spain's Francisco Goya … and almost instantly lets his attention wander.
The story, inquisitional in nature, concerns the accusation from a priest that Goya's muse in a heretic … which isn't the most gripping of plotlines.
The chief problem, surrounded by many minor ones, is that the film lacks real construction and an ability to hold our attention.
