Rock visits African slums

Comedian Chris Rock has brought some cheer to Kenya's biggest slum by promising to help the people who live in squalor there.

The three-time Emmy award-winner visited Kibera slums, south of capital city Nairobi and home to an estimated 800,000 people, yesterday and was horrified at the plight of inhabitants.

He said: "I have come to Kibera to see for myself the blight of this people (and) see what we can do."

Following the charity trip, Rock proceeded to one of the country's largest game reserves, the Maasai Mara, where he'll spend the next few days.
