Hilton denies MySpace support for Spears

Socialite Paris Hilton has dismissed reports she publicly defended new pal Britney Spears on the internet.

Reports earlier this week suggested Hilton had posted a message of support on her MySpace page after the TOXIC star's heavy criticism by the press for her incessant partying.

However, Hilton's spokesperson Elliot Mintz insists the entry was not penned by the star - as she doesn't have a page on the social networking site.

Mintz tells TMZ.com: "Paris did not write it. She does not have a MySpace account."

The 'fake' Hilton MySpace entry spoke out in defence of Spears, insisting: "There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them 'bad parents.'

"She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her."
