Crank interesting, but lacks fizz

It’s hard to know what to make of Crank (Lionsgate, €24.99), a Speed-like vehicle without quite the same fizz as that high-octane work. Jason Statham plays Chelios, a hit man injected with a poison.

Naturally thirsting for revenge, he pumps up his adrenaline by kicking ass, snorting coke, and having sex with his girlfriend whenever and wherever he can.

And that’s it, apart from lots of bloodletting and violence.

Surprisingly, the plot remains interesting enough to keep you watching.
