Charlotte Church to star in new movie
Just weeks after splitting with her record company, Charlotte Church has signed up for a new movie.
The songstress and chat show host has confirmed she will star in Bridge Of Lies, directed by Little Britain director Matt Lipsey.
It is her first foray back to the big screen after her 2003 movie, I'll Be There, flopped.
In her new film, due out in 2007, Charlotte, 20, will play a character in a small Welsh town which is blown apart by corruption, according to the Daily Express.
Since finding fame as the Voice Of An Angel, Charlotte, who lives with boyfriend Gavin Henson, has successfully moved into TV with her hit series, The Charlotte Church Show.
"I love doing TV," she said. "But I don't want to always be just sitting on a sofa doing interviews. I'd love a bad girl part in a Brit film."
Cardiff-born Charlotte has also appeared on Heartbeat and Have I Got News For You on UK television.
The songstress went on to say that she "can't stand" footballers' wives and girlfriends.
"Wags", whose most prominent ambassadors include Victoria Beckham, Coleen McLoughlin and Cheryl Cole, should not be compared to rugby players' girlfriends because they are "too showy", she says.
Charlotte, 20, tells Reveal magazine: "We're so not like the football Wags - I'd never be like that.
"I can't stand the way they are. They're far too showy."
"I have some good friends among the girlfriends of the rugby players. It's great when we're all there cheering them on."
