Parents and kids sure to enjoy Monster House

The perfect DVD for kids who like a good animation with something scary thrown in is Monster House (SPHE, €24.99).

Directed by Gil Kenan, this is a clever and spooky adventure about two young boys who believe a house is eating up anyone who gets too close.

The film has plenty of Roald Dahl-like moments to put the fear into any youngster, yet retains enough charm to keep them watching. Quite a few parents will enjoy this one as well.

Among those voicing the characters are Mitchel Musso, Sam Lerner, Spencer Locke, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Steve Buscemi.

Fleshing out the title are a cluster of special features, including a commentary, seven Inside Monster House featurettes and a photo gallery.
