Jackson ' too nervous' to meet Queen

Pop star Michael Jackson is a huge fan of the James Bond series of movies, but refused to go to the premiere of Casino Royale while he was in London because he was terrified of meeting British royal Queen Elizabeth II.

The latest Bond film, starring Daniel Craig, had its Royal Command Performance last month in London.

According to veteran entertainment columnist Liz Smith, Jackson was in town, but did not attend the event because he said he was "too nervous" to be near the monarch.

Jackson asked executives from the film's production company to send him a screener tape and he watched Casino Royale in his hotel suite instead, drinking Diet Coke and munching on popcorn.
