Irréversible Collector’s Edition is difficult viewing

Few films have the power to shock as much as Irréversible Collector’s Edition (Tartan, €24.99), Gasper Noe’s tale about a night out which goes horribly wrong.

Searing performances by Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassell and Noe’s reverse filming technique stand out, but two episodes in particular — the rape and revenge scenes — might be too strong for some.
