Law, still an actor shrouded in a lot of doubt over his exact talent, here plays, with as little real effort as he can muster, an architect whose domestic life is as lifeless as his performance.

Wife (Wright-Penn) doesn’t seem interested in the relationship and the daughter (Rogers) is autistic. At the office he’s the victim of regular breaking and entering, which he combats by camping out in hope of getting the perp.

When he does, and follows him home, he discovers the perp’s mother is Binoche and begins an affair.

Thereafter, the story goes nowhere, nor do confusing under-plots.
