Tarantino to star in spaghetti western

Maverick director Quentin Tarantino will step in front of the camera to star in a 12th century spaghetti western being made by Japanese cult filmmaker Takashi Miike.

The Pulp Fiction director will join a mainly Japanese cast, who are being given intensive English lessons in preparation for the as-yet-unnamed movie.

Miike's films are notorious for their violence - cinemagoers at the Toronto Film Festival were given sick bags when they were shown his 2001 film Ichi The Killer.
