Bono and Vedder duet kick starts G20 protests

U2 star Bono performed a duet with Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam in Australia yesterday to kickstart protests against the G20 summit held in Melbourne.

Bono teamed up with the Jeremy rockers at the Make Poverty History concert to perform Rockin' In The Free World and called for the finance ministers and central bankers attending the high profile meeting to invest heavily in poor parts of the world.

He said: "Politicians have to do what you tell them to do. We are gonna make poverty history."

Police have closed down large areas of Melbourne to prevent protestors from getting close to the summit which takes place today and Sunday.
