Irish singer favourite to win Australian Idol

Irish singer Damien Leith is 11-10 with Australian bookmaker Centrebet to win the Australian Idol Grand Final.

Only Darwin teenager Jessica Mauboy (4-6) stands between the Co Kildare man and the title.

“Ireland’s loss is Australia’s gain,” says Centrebet’s Gerard Daffy. “Damien’s got a voice to die for and, even though he’s the outsider, only a fool would write off his chance of winning the series.”

Damien was a 33-1 shot when Centrebet framed its first Australian Idol market three months ago.
