Cher gatecrashes charity expedition

Pop veteran Cher is aiming to bring some Christmas cheer to African orphans - after inviting herself to a Scottish couples' seasonal charity mission to Kenya.

The singer contacted Scottish fundraisers Robert and Eleanor Wood to ask if she and an unknown A-list pal could tag along on their forthcoming trip after finding out about the couple's plan to give 300 teddy bears to disadvantaged youngsters.

Robert Wood says: "I did my best to stay calm. It is going to be fantastic."
