American Pie star Tara Reid has blasted the media for upsetting her mother with scurrilous gossip and "negative" photos about the actress.

Reid admits the past two years have been tough on her family and she's convinced that coming clean about her botched plastic surgery has given tabloids and magazines cause for thought.
