Richie enters weight-gain programme

Nicole Richie has checked into a treatment centre to help her gain weight.

Filming for The Simple Life, in which she stars with hotel heiress Paris Hilton, has been postponed.

A spokesman for 20th Century Fox said: "We wish her a speedy recovery and fully expect the series will resume production at some point, hopefully in the near future."

The socialite daughter of Lionel Richie has dominated magazine headlines because of her frail figure.

Her publicist, Nicole Perna, insists she does not have anorexia and just needs to focus on nutrition.

"It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way ….She is working with a team of doctors and specialists," she said.
