Malawian judge postpones hearing on Madonna adoption
A judge today adjourned a hearing into Madonna’s effort to adopt a Malawian baby until November 13 and ordered lawyers for a committee of human rights activists to prepare more arguments on their contention that the court should review the adoption process.
The Human Rights Consultative Committee, a coalition of 67 rights groups, has petitioned the court to make sure no Malawian laws have been broken in the adoption process and to make the committee a party to the adoption so it can help assess the pop singer’s fitness as a mother.
