Bindi series halted

Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's eight-year-old daughter Bindi's official foray into television is being delayed by at least a year, in light of growing concerns the child is too young to cope with the demands of a TV series.

The animal lover has been shooting Bindi, The Jungle Girl, a 26-part wildlife documentary show, that is set to debut in January 2007.

But after being increasingly bombarded with criticism that Bindi, whose father died last month while filming a segment for the show, TV bosses are halting production temporarily.

Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray barb off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
