Shakira nominated for seven dance awards

Shakira who bounced back from a career low this year with the hit Hips Don't Lie this year failed to win more than one award at the MTV Latin American Music Awards.

The star who hails from Columbia had been nominated in seven categories but only managed to win for Best Choreography.

Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee who has had limited success here won Artist of the Year at the ceremony held in Mexico City.
