Animal antics in Barnyard could be better

And another one rolls around … more animated animals trying to be funny and cute and very telling.

Here, when the farmer isn’t around, the animals take on human traits: snappy one-liners, etc, etc.

But when tragedy happens and a new leader emerges and is faced with seeing off those bad dudes the Coyotes will he prove up to the task?

Some of the characters do hit the right notes, but others merely re-work what we’ve seen in several other such films. It’s fun-ish, but it might have been a great deal better.
