Indian soldiers sent onto the streets for Jolie

Indian soldiers have reportedly been drafted into the Indian city Pune after a vehicle carrying Angelina Jolie knocked down a teenager on Wednesday.

The actress was sitting reading in the backseat of the Toyota Qualis when it collided with 19-year-old Mittal Rawat as her driver was attempting to escape pursuing paparazzi.

Local authorities are terrified India's notoriously dangerous roads could claim the Girl Interrupted actress' life in a fatal accident as she travels to and from the A Mighty Heart film set.

So soldiers will line the route taken by Jolie to ensure no mishaps befall her.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star: "It could have been very nasty if they'd hit something bigger than a motorbike. The roads are dangerous here, people get killed and injured every day."
