Former Libertines star Gary Powell has ruled out reuniting with troubled rocker Pete Doherty to revive the band, revealing they don't even keep in touch.

The drummer, who formed new group Dirty Pretty Things with Carl Barat after the Libertines disbanded, is disgusted by the current explosion of pop comebacks in the UK, and is adamant it will never happen to his former rock outfit.

He says: "Absolutely not. There's no way. I don't even talk to Pete anymore.

"Even if I had seven kids in a few years time and desperately needed the money, I wouldn't do it.

"From the point of view of fans, I don't understand why they would want to spend all that money seeing old bands when there's so much new music out there."
