Hoffman was panicked by lifetime achievement award

Veteran actor Dustin Hoffman put his acting career on hold for three years, because he suffered a panic attack after being given a lifetime achievement award.

The Rain Mam star was honoured by the American Film Institute in 1999, but the accolade left him feeling like his career was over and he was unable to work again until 2002.
