The end for Mirren's Prime Suspect character

British actress Helen Mirren has let slip that her character in long-running British TV police drama Prime Suspect will die at the end of the next series.

The 61-year-old has been playing DCI Jane Tennison in the gritty show on-and-off since 1991 and she has let slip the dramatic end to Prime Suspect 7, which is set to air on ITV1 later this year.

She says: "As far as I know, at this time, that is the end for Jane Tennison but who knows what might happen...She might come back from the dead! Oh my god, forget that I said that!"
