Marianne Faithfull diagnosed with cancer

Singer and actress Marianne Faithfull has been diagnosed with breast cancer, her publicist said today.

Doctors in France, who diagnosed the disease, said it was in its “earliest stages”.

Faithfull, 59, has postponed her world tour, which was due to kick-off next month.
