What if America suffers a devastating chemical attack? Will society hold together? Will it be used by the authorities as a reason to clamp its cold hand around the collective throat?

Cochrane is the lynch-pin of an often harrowing tale of how Los Angeles copes – or doesn’t cope – with such an attack, of how people turn nasty in their battle for survival and of how the military act … and if it happens in real life you have to hope and pray the government stays well away from you and yours.
