East 17 split again

British boy band East 17 have announced their split - just months after reforming for a comeback London gig and album.

Brian Harvey and fellow band members John Hendy, Terry Coldwell and Tony Mortimer re-grouped in May for a one-off gig after a nine year break from the industry.

The Stay Another Day hitmakers hope to capitalise on the publicity it generated to star in a documentary about the 1990s band and release a new album.

However, tensions within the group have scuppered any further plans together after Mortimer was ousted following a fight with Harvey.

Hendy says: "I don't think Tony's heart was in it really. There was too much of an ego clash between him and Brian."
